CHRISTUS also advocates a comprehensive approach to healing that addresses the importance of both body and soul. The Hospital Elder Life Program, or HELP, has been implemented to address these very issues. The primary goals of the program are to maintain cognitive and physical functioning of high risk older adults throughout hospitalization. The program also aims to maximize independence at discharge, assist with the transition from hospital to home and prevent unplanned hospital readmissions.
